OLD MACDONALD

A very brief story. Robin's creative mind never failed to astonish us. We were driving along--and I have no idea where we were going--but Robin was between three and four. As usual, we were singing. This time it was the old song, "Old MacDonald had a Farm, ee-i-ee-i-oh". 2101 Devonshire We went through all the animals on the farm, of course, finally ending with the long list of what each animal said (a bark bark here, a bark bark there, here a bark, there a bark, everywhere a bark bark--and so on). When we finally reached the end of the menagerie, Robin's tiny voice continued, "and on that farm there was a mamma, ee-i-ee-i-oh--with a talk talk here, and a talk talk there, here a talk, there a talk, everywhere a talk talk." I almost wrecked the car I was laughing so hard. We all were nearly hysterical with the brilliance and aptness of her characterization. I do not know if she might have continued with the entire rest of the family or not, but she got a little embarrassed about it and would not go on, much to our disappointment.
